A small group of fastish folk headed out last night, just myself, Chris, Manuel and Marcus. Marcus was over from Germany visiting Manuel, and it was decided that the “aussicht” of Edinburgh from the Pentlands was the finest we could offer any visitor, so we headed that way. Just the usual route towards Swanston, only stopping at the golf club for a swift “durchfall”, as my “der bauch” was severely hindering my ability to “lauf”. Once running again, we took the reverse handicap route to the Caerketton “gipfel”, but low cloud meant we couldn’t see anything. No matter, the next best thing in the area was a swift half “bier” at the Steading before a meandering route over the Braids to finish. If nothing else, Marcus got to experience Scotland’s famous rain. 11.3 meilen, 2,434 ft aufstieg.
