What is a Swimrun some of you may be asking?
Well it’s multiple runs and swims where you carry everything you need all the time, so you swim with your trainers on and run in your wetsuit. It can be done solo or in pairs.
Rebecca Gentek entered the full course as a solo. A total of 45km ( 10runs, 38.5km and 9 swims 6.5km).
I entered the ‘sprint’ as a solo a total of 21km (6runs, 18km and 5 swims, 3km).
A great day was had by both of us with maybe the exception of the final 800m swim as it had become very windy and choppy.
Rebecca finished an amazing 2nd solo female and 2nd overall and and was very close to winning.
I came home 6th solo in the sprint. You’ve got to love a 3hr+ race called a sprint!!
