Glen Ogle Ultra took place on Saturday starting from Killin again like last year. Fortunately the weather wasn’t nearly as vile as the forecast had predicted and the slower among us even caught glimpses of blue sky towards the end. The fasties were very fast – Robert Turner won in a new course record of 3.36.55. Rob Sinclair was 2nd, James Stewart 3rd. First female was Charlotte Black in 4.17.30, 2nd Jillian Gordon, 3rd Kristin Lownie. Full results will be here http://runyabam.com/glen-ogle-33/go33results/2015-2/
Now in its 5th year GO33 is well run and a very friendly race to do. You even get a lollipop man with attitude to see you safely across the road after Strathyre (not sure I’ll forget seeing a bloke in high vis waving a lollipop with “MTFU” on it bawling at us to SPRRRIIINT across the road in a hurry). I wasn’t breaking any speed records myself but enjoyed the run more than last year – amazing the effect of a sensible pacing strategy……
