Yesterday I drove up to Freewheelin’ Brewery in Peebles to get a brew on that will be given out to all runners and marshals at the race in February. We once again set ourselves the challenge to brew a beer that would be 5%abv using 5 different types of malt and hops, with the added challenge of using hops that begin with the letter C. Disaster had almost struck the day before when Richard went into Brewstore to pick up the additional ingredients that he didn’t already have at the brewery only to discover that they had run out of Citra. Luckily there are quite a few hops beginning with that letter and he replaced it with Cashmere. I won’t bore you with details of the brewing process, it all seems to have gone well and will hopefully be a tasty golden ale.
