After 3 weeks away from Edinburgh it was definitely head torch time at KB this Wednesday. The dark nights mean that once again the golf courses are fully open for running, so we headed off across Craigmillar Park. The fence out was heavily brambled and although some runners got pricked others had a feast on the berries. It is time Oz went for a run with his machete!
The steep climb to Braids was hard work (20 mile mountain bike ride in my legs) and then a nice run across Braids to Mortonhall (wall climb). A nice run along the groomed fairways past the pond and we summited by the south ridge.
A quick run back across Braids and through the Hermitage and time for a bit of democracy. I was lazily hoping for an easy traverse, but the team are true hill runners so Blackford summit it was.
A quick descent back to KB and the 7 o’clockers appeared from Arthur’s Seat so we had a good blether, unfortuanately minus any beer,
but all good fun.

It was cool and dry today so great PB conditions to be out and most had a good run.
Tourists are thinning out now after the brooding season so it was straightforward getting to the trig point.
Great PB from David knocking 3mins 40 off his PB
Fast Fraser has been plugging away at passage planning and has a great PB before his pending paternity leave.
Super scampering Peter was flying along with the fastest time today and gained a minute on Mike flying past him before the scree.
His 27 minutes was 2½ mins faster than his 2017 PB and picked up a Strava Crown on the Haddie.
A big HELLO to Matthew Wardner who had a pretty creditable first go.
Jamie props up the table with a return to running after his injury layoff.
It’s the biggest congratulations to Digby who gets the win with the best improved performance!
See you Monday 5 November
